What Does a Marketing Partner Do?

I had some fun with graphic design work recently. It occurred to me that while graphic design is not my specialty, I do have marketing skills that help my clients. I also find it challenging to explain what I do in an elevator pitch. So I made a graphic:

Social Media

No two social media strategies are alike. Most of my social media clients simply don’t want to be bothered with the planning and never-ending nature of social media. However, they realize they need to have a social media presence. That’s where I come in. I find topics for posting, create a monthly content calendar, find links, graphics, and hashtags, and schedule posts. Once posts are live I respond to comments and engage with followers.

Blogging & Copywriting

Writing has become a combination of art and science, especially if you want your web site to be picked up by search engines. Have you considered that sales copy is different from marketing copy? There are plenty of reasons to have a good writer on your team, for ongoing communications or an as-needed basis.

Content Strategy

Businesses that want to consistently rank high in search results need a good content strategy. This is especially important when you are in an industry or geographic area with a lot of competition. A well-crafted content strategy helps your site stand out.

Marketing Strategy

There are countless ways to spend your money on marketing. Your neighbor may encourage you to advertise on the radio, while your employees tell you to focus on Facebook. How do you know which is right for you? This is where a marketing strategy comes in…helping define your strategy that is unique to your business.

Sales Development

People don’t want to be sold to. A good sales person or sales pitch should make people want to buy. I can show you how to structure your sales efforts for maximum efficiency instead of wasted time. With the right mindset, even business owners can be sales people!

Email Marketing

We all get so many emails every day, so it’s easy to feel like you are the last business to do email marketing. I can help you choose an email marketing provider, assist with implementation, create email marketing templates and everything else that leads up to your first email launch. After that, I’ll work with you to create regularly scheduled emails, monthly newsletters, and promotional campaigns.

Consulting & Training

Some businesses prefer a professional to guide them as they get started. It may be to set up their marketing infrastructure, or train an employee on social media or a marketing automation platform. Just talking about your goals is a good place to start, to determine how to prioritize your time, budget, and where you need to hire and what you can outsource.

Brand Development

Not all businesses have a brand…heck, not all businesses have a logo. As businesses grow, however, establishing a brand identity and brand voice can help your business appear larger and more established than it actually is. Who wouldn’t want that? Using your brand elements consistently will help your audience recognize you and sets you apart from the competition. The best part of branding is that it can be scaled to the investment that’s right for your business right now.

This covers the majority of the marketing and sales work that I perform for clients. Of course, it would be my pleasure to speak with you about your goals. I’m here to help you delegate the pesky marketing work that gets in the way of running your business. If that sounds good to you, get in touch!
